I stopped here about two months ago, when I had some family visiting from out of town. I loved their cream puffs, and the cannoli was almost as good as what you can find in the North End. So, I decided to go there the day before Thanksgiving to get some desserts for my family dinner. Unfortunately, my second experience here was extremely disappointing. Someone literally forgot to fill the eclair - there was no filling in it whatsoever, and it was bone dry. The cream puff had an odd, almost sour taste to it, and the cannoli was tasteless. Honestly, the quality was so poor that it leads me to believe that what I bought had been in the display case for at least a couple of days. Sadly, based on this experience, I’m not sure that I would go back.
MoreThe Boston cream pie was delicious. Exactly what I thought it should be. Light cake, custard and a chocolate frosting that was perfect. And the girl at the counter at 8:00 on 7/21 was very friendly, too.
MoreA small bakery inside the Quincy market. I got my first Boston cream pie here, and yah, I kinda loved. The best part is, the cream inside was not too sweet. It’s little pricy but easily can be shared by two. You have to grab your food and go outside to find a bench/ chair. If you don’t have the luck, you might not find, as the place is usually very busy and crowded in the day time.
MoreBest desert ever is their Napoleons
Best avoided. Please do yourself a favor and don’t get espresso drinks here. They have a milk foamer but don’t make espresso with an espresso machine. Instead they have a pre made jar of “expresso”. This is watery brewed coffee in a regular glass carafe which they pour on to foamed milk to make a thin milky brewed coffee - not cappuccino.
MoreGot a lobster tail(dessert) from them. Dessert has a lot of cream filled but not sickly sweet, and pastry was crispy. Very good
MoreThe Cheesecake.....wow. The plain cheesecake, fresh, light and fluffy cheesecake, graham cracker crust and not overly sweet, and enough for two to share...worth it!
MoreCarol Ann Bakery is located in Quincy Market. Everything you might expect in a North end Bakery can be found here. Canolis? Yes! Pastries, cakes brownies and Boston Cream Pie. Enjoy Boston!
MoreMost reasonably priced bakery/dessert shop in Quincy Market. The employees were so helpful!! I tried the oreo cheesecake and it was delicious! So rich and creamy
MoreIf your downtown and looking for delicious, delicate, pastry that with one bite you can feel the passion and love for the craft my choice every time is Carroll Ann's. Unlike other bakeshops that have become a cliché of the Boston Tourist, the heart warming customer service paired with skillfully made treats will never make you feel like a member of the herd being ushered through so they can get to the next person. From personal experience they are also AMAZING at working with customers and customizing orders for any event large or small, as demonstrated at my wedding. Now that they have opened a location at the Stop & Shop down the street from my apartment on McGrath in Somerville we couldn't be happier.
MoreBoston cream pie is the official desert of Massachusetts. Ironically enough it seems to be pretty hard to find. They definitely have it here and it’s good. Fun little shop to hit if you’re in the area.
MoreLobster tail and Boston cream pies were both delicious. The plain cannoli wasn’t crisp and didn’t have much flavor; the chocolate-covered cannoli was decently crisp, but the filling was too grainy. I would go back for another lobster tail, though!
MorePretty good! Had a cappuccino and an eclair, both tasty, but could have been a little better.
MoreI was totally disappointed after I made purchases for my family today. Everything tasted horrible! The lobster tail actually tasted like the filling was curdled and rotten. The macaroon had zero flavor and tasted more like dry cake, than coconut. And the cookies were dry and stale. You guys charge a premium price, you should have premium quality. We ended up throwing everything out after one bite. And all those lobster tails should be thrown away, you could make people sick!
MoreBEST CHEESECAKE IVE EVER HAD
Looked better than it tasted, cannoli shells were soggy, macaroon dry, cheesecake so so. Located inside of Quincy market, friendly staff.
MoreGood shop in Boston to buy desserts. I tried Napoleon only , so cannot comment about their other varieties. Napoleons dessert was good.
MoreReally nice staff, good dessert
YUM!! The chocolate mousse cake was amazing! The chocolate cookie was good too. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious. The only problem I had was I couldn’t decide what I wanted because it all looked so good!!
MoreExcelente desserts!
